CEAGESP assumed a commitment with the future by inserting the theme of sustainability into its agenda. In order to achieve such goal, the company maintains a combination of social and environmental responsibility actions. The major projects are the CEAGESP Food Bank, Nossa Turma (Our Group) Association, in addition to digital inclusion and alphabetization and education acceleration programs.
Created in 2003, in São Paulo, the CEAGESP Food Bank collects, selects and distributes food to the Municipal Food Banks and Social Entities of the State of São Paulo. The products donated are offered by wholesale producers and sellers, accredited by the Company.
In all, an average of 200 tons of food is distributed monthly to more than 130 entities. The food disposed of by the CEAGESP Food Bank for being unsuitable for consumption is converted into manure by composting. In addition, CEAGESP promotes the recycling of hay, wood, iron and paperboard.
The project is currently present in ten centers in the interior of the State: Araçatuba, Araraquara, Bauru, Franca, Marília, Piracicaba, Presidente Prudente, Ribeirão Preto, São José do Rio Preto and Sorocaba.
Maintained by CEAGESP, the Child and Teenager Support Association Nossa Turma offers educative recreation to over 200 children and teenagers who live in the vicinities of the Capital’s Center.
In São Paulo, the Company also promotes the alphabetization and digital inclusion through projects that target different audiences. The alphabetization and education acceleration program is dedicated to employees and service renderers. In addition to alphabetization lessons, the team encourages and offers monitoring and assistance to students enrolled in the education courses in formal schools. The digital inclusion project assists more than one hundred people, including employees, service renderers and residents of the vicinity, offering access and basic education in information technology.
